It is too easy to box stuff up and let it sit somewhere, out of sight and out of mind. Sometimes if it sits too long, items may not be usable in time to be of use. Most items loss durability over time and do have expiration dates. Keep this in mind while sorting through things to pack or throw away.
My packing life hack is to label an expiration date outside the box. The date will be the shelf that you are willing to keep it stored and move. You can also use the actual expiration dates for products. That would be most ideal for any extra hygiene products, toothpaste, creams, medications, saved baby gear or unused electronics for an example.
Labeling expiration dates will save you so much time. When you see that a box is expired, you will know right away it can go straight to the garbage. You have already taken the time to sort and save items, there is no needed to recheck boxes to double check what is inside.
This packing hack is a great way to create amazing decluttering goals. The last thing you want to to do, is bring your old clutter to your new home. Happy packing!
